Taranaki District Health Board is pleased to be offering an Intern Pharmacist position for 2021. This is an opportunity to join our team of motivated pharmacists and technicians, with a strong emphasis on clinical service provision and quality.
The Intern Pharmacist role includes:
All of the above duties will be carried out under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
Taranaki District Health Board is a leader in NZ Hospital pharmacy initiatives. The Pharmacy department employs a team of dedicated professionals, who are committed to continuing professional development.
The department uses the e-Pharmacy dispensing system. This is interfaced with the Pyxis automated ward inventory management system. The MedChart electronic prescribing system is used in seven wards and theatres at TDHB. In addition, we use the Epiphany clinical intervention recording programme, a multidisciplinary medication events database (Datix) and a nutrition database.
We also have a dedicated eMedication management team within the pharmacy department, who the clinical based team work closely with on a day to day basis.
