We are pleased to offer clinical/health/counselling psychology opportunities in adult mental health community services, adult mental health inpatient services and/or psychological input to physical health services/persistent pain service.
The adult mental health vacancies are within community and inpatient services. Psychologists work in a team and offer psychological input to benefit service-users and colleagues within MDTs and the wider organisation. These include psychological assessment and formulation, brief and longer-term interventions, individual, family and group work, teaching and training, supervision and consultation.
The physical health psychology vacancies are 0.2 fte general health psychology and 0.3fte persistent pain. The general health psychology role includes inpatient and outpatient contact, as well as contribution to groups. It involves working with people with both acute illness/injury, as well as longer term and life changing conditions such as recovery after stroke, alongside another psychologist in the service. The persistent pain team role involves being part of a small but cohesive and innovative team. It includes contributing to individual multidisciplinary assessment and intervention for ACC as well as DHB referred individuals, and leading psychology sessions on an established pain education group programme.
