1.0FTE (80 Hours Per Fortnight)
Come and leave the hustle and bustle of city life behind and join us in the region that has just been named the world’s second top region to visit in 2017 by Lonely Planet!
In Taranaki, it is easy to achieve an enviable lifestyle without having to compromise your career path. The region’s amazing mountain, rivers, lakes, fantastic coastline and outstanding surfing and tramping opportunities, masses of parks and gardens, as well as a major events calendar, make it a great place to live and work.
The Taranaki District Health Board is a large organisation (1,800 staff) operating in the exciting, changing Health sector.
Our Radiology department is seeking a permanent Sonographer with excellent scanning and time management skills to join our busy team. Located within the hospital, our referrals include acute examinations (inpatient/ED), obstetric, vascular and community referrals. You will be supported by a team of eleven Radiologists.
We have a well equipped newly refurbished department with five modern ultrasound machines (three IU22’s and two recently acquired Toshiba Aplio 500’s)
Our Sonographers work primarily at our Taranaki Base Hospital site, but do also rotate to provide scanning at one of our satellite sites.
We are looking for a Sonographer with excellent communication skills, a high standard of patient care, enthusiasm and the ability to work efficiently in our busy department in a team of four others.
We have a friendly welcoming team, and can offer a great work life balance (with no out of hours call), enabling you to head to the beach after work.
Taranaki is a vibrant place which appeals to a range of people. If this fabulous opportunity appeals to you, then we welcome your application.
